It looks like I’m going to fly down to Florida State University next week for the FSU Wind Ensemble’s performance of “Redline Tango.” I’ve been e-mailing back-and-forth with Richard Clary, the conductor of the ensemble, and it sounds like he has some great ideas about the piece and is going to give an exciting, polished performance. The more he’s told me about his interpretation, the more I’ve wanted to be there for the concert. It’ll be quite a whirlwind trip — flying down on Wednesday evening, attending the concert on Thursday, flying back to NY on Friday morning, then driving to Binghamton with AJ for Damien’s performance of my Percussion Concerto on Saturday! Whew!

Now I somehow have to find time to write the new piece…
